Nordic Tales vol. 1 is an anthology of short stories based on the Viking universe. Each tale brings a unique and never-before-seen story involving the peoples of Northern Europe and their mythology. The tales were written by several different authors and are independent of each other. However, all the tales have the same background, in which the legends and myths existing in the Edda – ancestral poems that narrate the stories of Norse gods and heroes – are now reality.

The stories in this book originate in the setting of the RPG Vikings: Warriors of the North. A universe in which the nine worlds that were situated around the universal tree, Yggdrasil, have now become just one, causing the Norse peoples to coexist with the mythological entities that previously lived isolated in their own worlds. That's why the environment of Nordic Tales is so rich in mythological and historical references from that cold and inhospitable universe.
