Many people who received Midgard, after checking out the check list of components, he was in doubt about the 12 extra cards that were in the kit. These are the bonus cards that were obtained by hitting the goals stipulated in the game's crowdfunding. In total, there are three Hero cards and nine Challenge cards. OK! But how do I use these cards? – you will ask! And we explain it here:
Hero Cards
There are three new heroes: Ahmad Ibn Fadlan, Beowuld and Ragnar Lothbrok.
They must be shuffled together with the expansion's hero pile. heroes of the north and used in the same way as the cards in that expansion. Of course, if you don't have the expansion, you can download the rulebook. on here and try to use these three cards, but for that you will have to play a maximum of three players and you will find that they work much better together with all the other heroes.
Challenge Cards
They are not challenge cards themselves, but cards that must be shuffled into the game's challenge pile during the initial set-up.
Whenever one of these cards is revealed, a new challenge must be opened to the list of active challenges. Each of the cards represents one of the Mythological Worlds and provides a renowned score to the first player to win any other challenge in that World.
An example: The Furor of Muspellsheim card provides 3 points of Renown to the first player to win any challenge from Muspellsheim. So, if a player wins the Dragon Hrodsorm challenge, in addition to taking the defeated Dragon card (6 Renown) to his Renown pile, he also takes the Muspellsheim Furor card, accumulating another 3 Renown.
Remember that to face the challenge the player does not necessarily need to be in the same world as pointed out. In the example above, the player could be in Svartalfheim to face the Dragon and, by beating him, they would also gain the Furor of Muspellsheim card.
Remember, too, that these are bonus cards and are outside the general scope of the game. Therefore, in order for them to enter the table, all participants must agree!
