Normally, on a long holiday like this, we would make that post saying that weekend is to gather friends and play, with a photo full of games and evoking the spirit of board games, which is the union around a table to get together. have fun. But, unfortunately, times are different… It's not possible to gather friends during quarantine.
Board games have been a great company for families who are at home and need alternatives at all times to spend time together (you can't live on Netflix, right?). So, here we are going to make a list of games divided into categories to help you, who are at home (and stay that way), to have pleasant moments during the quarantine.
To play with the little ones:
- ICECOOL: in addition to the normal game, you can use ICECOOL for some games, such as a race around the school, an impossible flick competition or simply playing with the flicks.
- Fairy Tile: Storytelling is part of human nature. And after many Fairy Tile games, maybe you just want to play around with the characters and pages of the book to create new stories.
- Animal Upon Animal: Animal Upon Animal is that simple and “silly” game that neither you nor the little ones will want to stop playing. But if eventually you get tired, offer challenges to the little ones, like stack more animals, or make a pile with specific animals, or just play with the animals.
- Rhino Hero: we are sure that the tireless hero rhino will climb the walls of paper buildings in this quarantine without stopping. This one needs no more details! 🙂
To play in two:
- fae: The hidden roles and the fact that, no matter the number of players, we always have the same number and colors of druids, makes Fae a game that works the same way with 1, 2, 3 or 4 players. Fast, easy and very interesting fun.
- fear: put on the table and played! It is possible to play infinitely, marking who wins each round. Great to pass the time!
- gnomopolis: Since we can't go out, how about we take the gnomes to your new city? Gnomopolis is very interesting in two players and has its own ground!
- The Towers of Arkahnos: it is a light, beautiful game that allows strategies in the right measure. Arkhanos works great with two players, without any setup changes.
- mexica, Tikal and cuzco: The Masquerade Trilogy is designed to work well regardless of the number of players. For those who want to have moments of more dispute, these are highly recommended, in that order.
- Valeria: Going through quarantine expanding your kingdom, killing monsters and recruiting citizens can feel pretty good! Valeria still has a way ground, for those moments when you are “forever alone” in quarantine.
To play alone:
- We've already talked about some of them above: gnomopolis and Valeria.
- Robinson Crusoe: Surviving the Cursed Isle can be even more challenging if you're alone.
- Room 25: Room 25's solo mode provides an amazing experience!
- Some other games have unofficial solo mode available on boardgame geek, such as Great Western Trail, Western Legends and clank (using the app).
Did we miss any? Leave the tip for us in the comments. We want to count on everyone to get through this quarantine in the best possible way.
But most importantly, we want to say that the Conclave is with you all. For our part, we are doing everything possible to get through this phase in the best way possible.
We will make the donation that we mentioned in the Announcement: Conclave Vs. COVID-19 this week. The institution chosen to receive the donation was the Saint Helena Shelter, known for its seriousness in welcoming elderly people and who, due to the large number of people served, always need help.
We continue to follow the recommendations of the WHO. Our entire team is in home office, with the dispatch staff taking turns (so that there is no contact) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to ship the games throughout Brazil, all safely and putting health first. We are a little slower, but this is so we can preserve everyone. Conclave did not and does not intend to dismiss any employee because of the situation and also did not adhere to any measure to reduce wages or forced vacations. We are going through this phase responsibly, because we know that at times like this people need each other the most.
To those professionals who can't stay at home, our thanks. Thank you so much for taking your chances while we're safe! We hope this phase passes soon so you can also stay at home for a while and enjoy amazing games with family and friends!
Stay home, stay safe!
We are together!
