Most importantly for players to keep in mind that changing strategies one or more times throughout the game will make winning much more difficult. Playing fully offensive or defensive usually works very well, and there are God favor abilities that match each strategy. The same goes for a good defensive strategy. Up to 3 gods with complementary abilities can be chosen at the beginning of the game, choose according to your strategy.
Another strategy is to just focus on getting tokens to use for favors from Gods. This means keeping as many golden hands and dice as possible. Having a good amount of chips will allow the player to use favors from Gods more often. There are several combinations of God's favors that would be effective when playing offensively. Thor's Attack, which deals up to 8 additional damage, can be extremely useful. Skadi's Hunt and Brunhild's Fury multiply attack dice. There are also favors from Gods that heal, such as Odin's Sacrifice and Heimdall's Vigil.
