Conclave Editora signed a partnership with CD PROJEKT RED and GO ON BOARD, both Polish, to bring to Brazil The Witcher: Old World — a brand new board game set in the universe of The Witcher.

The Witcher: Old World is an adventure board game for 2-5 players that takes them into a story set long before the times of Geralt of Rivia, when they take on the role of professional monster hunters. Having recently completed their brutal training at their wizarding school, players must embark on a journey across the continent. Along the way, they'll face tough choices, accept contracts, face monsters - and maybe find themselves fighting another wizard to defend their school's honor! depicting the world of The Witcher in the past, the Old World will allow players to live out their own epic story, in which they will encounter wizards from five different schools and discover mysteries and hitherto unexplored locations.

The game was created by Łukasz Woźniak, co-founder of GO ON BOARD and author of several other games, including the multi-layered ones: Valhalla and titans.

“Our goal with old world is to provide a deeply immersive experience that evokes the same emotions and atmosphere found in books and video games. The Witcher – but in a board game format. We have been testing the game for some time with fans of the universe The Witcher, as well as board game experts, and we're very happy with what we've been able to accomplish so far. The Witcher: Old World is being created in collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED, creators of the video game series The Witcher, award-winning and critically acclaimed — which follows the adventures of professional monster slayer Geralt of Rivia.

“Our studio is full of board game enthusiasts and creating a model tailored to the universe of The Witcher it’s something we’ve been passionate about for some time,” says Rafał Jaki, Director of Business Development at CD PROJEKT RED. “We wanted the game to be easy to learn, difficult to master, and offer high replay value. As far as the story goes, we thought it would be interesting to focus on the moments when wizards were seen most often across the world. We also wanted to show how the different schools of wizards faced unique monsters that inhabited the continent in abundance. I look forward to seeing how players go to the Old World when it launches!”

The crowdfunding campaign for the game in Brazil will air in Catarse on 05/31/2021 and will include the basic and deluxe of the game, in addition to many extra components to be unlocked. This campaign, along with the international Kickstarter campaign, will also give the community the chance to have a significant impact on all content in the game, as well as the story it presents. The international campaign has been a roaring one, having raised more than $3 million to date, with approximately 27,000 supporters. Conclave intends to bring the same success as the international campaign to Brazil!
