Every year, villagers come from all over to participate in the Harvest Festival. They bring with them beautiful rugs for sale and share delicious mango juice. Men of faith honor the Sacred Cows, while children play with mischievous monkeys and sigh at snake charmers. But the festival's biggest event is the Elephant Race. Young men and women spend days decorating their elephants with reverent, joyful paintings so they can make their way through the crowds of festive villagers, making their way through the other pachyderms ready to race. The bell rings, the elephants show all their excitement and the race begins!
